Michaela and James’ wedding was the perfect balance of elegance and ease – a day filled with effortless beauty, heartfelt moments, and considered details. Set at the ever-charming Rose & Smith in Tauherenikau, the venue’s rustic-luxe vibe created the dream backdrop for a celebration that felt both relaxed and refined.
The couple leaned into a palette of soft pastels with gentle pops of colour – designed to complement the lemon-hued bridesmaid dresses and the golden tones of late afternoon sun. The florals, created by the masters at Horrobin and Hodge, were intentionally loose and organic, adding to the feeling of a day that simply flowed. For the reception, neutral-toned candles were scattered along the tables, turning the space into something intimate and glowing as night fell.
Michaela wore a custom gown by Hayes Bridal, classic in silhouette with modern touches and heirloom pearls to finish the look. James looked timeless in a tailored Barkers suit, while the bridal party followed in elegant tones that pulled everything together seamlessly.
The ceremony was full of genuine emotion, followed by a relaxed dinner under soft lighting and an evening of dance-floor energy. Everything about this day felt intentional without being overdone. It was a wedding that truly reflected who Michaela and James are – warm, stylish, and effortlessly in love.
