Hemsworth Estate - Historic Garden Estate

Hemsworth Estate is located at 356 Beach Roast East, Ashburton. We’re less than 10 minutes drive from the centre of town, and one hour south of Christchurch. You can see our Google Maps listing here.

We have our own carpark, and signs out guiding the way (this is approximately 20m from the main entrance and has a direct route across the lawn to the Homestead). The carpark can take approximately 60 cars.

Service dogs are always welcome and yes, we also allow for your fur-baby to be a part of your special day. Please check with us for the requirements.

Currently we host weddings up to 120 guests. Please talk to us about options for larger numbers, with added infrastructure.

We do have a preferred list of vendors but are not exclusive. We do have a list of health and safety requirements for any vendors installing equipment, or handling food onsite.

Yes we do! Any additional set up you would like done will be for an additional fee. Price on application depending on the request.

Please keep to the arranged area, there is also a working farm on the property and we cannot guarantee your safety. Please do ask a staff member before exploring areas for any photography. No damage or alteration can be done to the grounds including digging in the Lawns without permission, entering the gardens without using the paths and nothing can be attached to the walls of the house both inside and out without consultation. Any bands or loud music must stop at midnight. Candles can be used in hurricane glasses providing there is no fire ban in the area. Absolutely no fireworks permitted.

Reasonable care and consideration of the surrounding properties and farming community when playing music must be taken into consideration. All loud music must stop at midnight.

We have both! We have two luxury suites available in the Homestead for accomodation before or the night of the wedding. And we also have a separate space large enough for the wedding party to use as a \"Glam Zone\".
