Kyra Portis | Marriage Celebrant

I'm Kyra, and I absolutely love weddings. I've officiated over 100 weddings throughout Canterbury and beyond and am so excited to continue having the honour of helping couples tie the knot.

My husband and I had our own wonderful wedding day back in 2018. It was through this process that I fell in love with weddings and knew I wanted to be part of this community. My favourite part of being a celebrant is meeting lovely couples and capturing their story to share with their nearest and dearest. My biggest aim is to make sure that every ceremony I have the pleasure of being a part of perfectly represents the couple and their wishes for their wedding day. My vibe is relaxed, romantic and most of all, stress free!

Alongside being a celebrant, I am a mum, and a speech and language therapist, working with whānau and educators to support children with their communication skills. I am part European and part Malaysian Chinese and can speak some Mandarin. I love that ceremonies can incorporate language and cultural traditions that are important to you and offer bilingual ceremonies in English and Mandarin Chinese. My family and I are also big fans of table tennis, trying out new eateries and spending time in the sun. One of our goals is to explore more of New Zealand, so I'm also a fan of taking on weddings a little further from home- we love to travel!
