The Heke Waiheke Island

The Heke is open all year round, with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Wedding ceremonies are held in our Barrel Hall, or weather permitting, can be held outside. Your cocktail hour and canapes are usually held outside, followed by an evening meal in our restaurant, which seats a maximum of 100 guests. The venue closes at 10pm. We are unable to accept any bookings for weddings in January, and do not accept bookings for weddings on Saturdays from December - March.

The total cost of the wedding will be made up of a venue hire fee + minimum spend on food and beverages. The amount depends on the day of the week and month of the year. Once we have met with you and understand what you envisage from your big day, we will provide you with a tailored quote.

If you would like to have your wedding at The Heke, we can pencil the date in for you for a maximum of 7 days while you make a decision. Once you are ready to book, we would take a $1000.00 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance will be spread out info monthly payments, with the entire balance due 7 days prior to the wedding date.

We highly recommend engaging with a wedding planner. Planning a wedding is a significant undertaking, often one of the most demanding projects you\'ll ever manage. The research, calls, meetings, appointments, bookings, tastings, spreadsheets, and fittings can indeed feel overwhelming.

An experienced wedding planner is there to guide you through every step, ensuring that every detail is managed perfectly. This allows you to relax and fully enjoy your special moments. We are a small team, and do not have a wedding planner in-house, but can help point you in the right direction with a number of fantastic wedding planners on island.
